A change in the line up

"My blog entry this time is not easily being made: I am sorry to come up with the news that Luca Princiotta won't be longer part of Sons Of Seasons. I had a long talk with him in Milano and we both agreed that it would be in the best interest for both sides to make that decision.

Luca is involved in many projects in his home country Italy, some of them are heavily built on his work. So dates clashing in the future couldn't have been avoided. There is always the alternative of sub- musicians, but it is my intention to play with a stable line- up right from the start. At the beginning of 2007, when I founded Sons Of Seasons and asked Luca to be one of the first musicians involved, his situation was different and he wasn't involved in so many projects. He has to, since it is so hard to survive as a musician nowadays, and only one band normally can't carry you. But then the distance Germany (our "home base", meeting & rehearsal place) - Italy suddenly becomes a big problem, especially regarding the rising prices for flights.

Luca is an outstanding musician and one of my best friends so this decision was a tough one. We will continue with four band members, while I am recording all of the guitars on 'Gods Of Vermin'.

It's a real shame to hear that! But I understand that it would be complicated. Have you got any other guitarists in mind?

Oh, no, this is sad news. I had already been wondering how he plans to manage all his projects since he seems to be a very busy guy. Especially with the travelling distances.

Well, I guess it's for the best to make this decision now and not later when the album is already finished. I hope you will find someone else who can fill his shoes soon. Good luck with the search!

Awww, thats sad to hear But it is a completly understandable decision
I hope everything else is fine, looking forward to hear you on the guitars and I hope you can soon find a new member.

That sucks. I came to know Luca the same way I did Oliver and Daniel, and when I read about SoS for the first time I was really excited.

I'm still looking forward to seeing SoS live, and hearing the songs, but this is a major bummer.

So sad but I guess it's the right decision. It must have been hard to make it !
Luca is a fantastic guitarist and I will follow his projects very closely !
Hope you will find very soon another guitarist for the concerts... But well, as Aliafne said, it wouldn't be unpleasant to see you playing guitars too XD

oooooh. That's very sad news to me too... i like Luca very much and was looking forward to seeing you guys together. I know you've been friends from a very long time so it must indeed have been a very tough decision to make... And you didn't need an extra work at the moment!

Really bad news. Never easy to make such a decision. Hope you'll find another guitarist soon.

Indeed, no need to tell that I feel exactly the same

I was just thinking about something : will you have to take other promotional photos (with another photoshoot session) ?

At least it happened on good terms, that's the only good thing I guess. Well maybe he can tour with you guys sometime, like Sean Tibbits did for Kamelot

For the upcoming album there will be no new fifth member. Regarding the shows next year we will go for a 2nd guitarist.
