It could be famous towns too... Roma, Sparta, Constantinople, Babylon, Alexandria, Olympia, Atlantis ...

@The rank topic: I think some "...of Seasons" would be nice but not for all ranks I like the idea of historical names!! We could find some really nice ones :cyclops: It should depend on from what historical times the songs wil refer to.

And we could need I think a hug and a winky smiley.

I personally would like a cooler ': P' emoticon xD

Besides that, another thing: what about adding one of the song samples on the index page? It could be added with a hidden MP3 player, so that the song is heard as a welcome when opening the forum.

Song sample is a very good idea. I think if there wil be some added they should be controlable. I know these song samles are really fashionable to put on websites nowdays and it is very practical inthe case of a band But it can be a bit irritating when the music is on if somebody opens the the forum. Firstly because I think I am not the only one who listens music on her PC, so it can be crazy if I listen to a music and I open up a new page and than I get a mix of different musics. Secondly usually these players are loud. Not once I had the case that I opened up a page or a myspace where the music was on and since I didnt wanted to disturb the ppl arround me or I was listening to somathing else I had to close the page again or mute down my computer. Which is rather uncomfortable
Summing it I think it is a good idea, but maybe we yould choose a player which is set off and ppl can decide whe and how loud they want to listen to the songs.

Edit: Do I feel it right that something has changed on the forum? Now it shows for me new post altough there is actually no real new post from my point of view. The only new post is what I have posted... but that is not new for me. Before, it only showed the new post sign whene there was a new post from the other forum members.

The user's own posts are considered new until they've opened them. It's the forum's logic, go figure...

I also think that music on the starting page is rather to be avoided. Out of the reasons Aliafne considered, but also because it might create problems with certain people's PC configuration and connection speed.

no problem, it was just an idea After all, samples are already available on the site.

If you like or dislike previous ranks ideas, let us know... we won't change anything without your opinion. But we can wait for other ideas to be posted, too.
And i did some recruitment yesterday evening

I like the rank ideas. Maybe you could set up a list with a finished rank system and we all can decide then as long as the forum is still small and cozy .

I do believe relevance to the band or its music is necessary, otherwise it wouldn't make much sense

I put up ranks on my band forum earlier today I'm doing a concept based on King Arthur, so the ranks are a hierarchy of people in a town or village in that time Currently the highest rank anyone has on my forum is 'peasant'

Maybe you, Oliver, could perhaps create a hierarchy in order to help with the ranks? But I suppose first we need to be sure of what the ranks will be based on.

5-50 posts: Child of Seasons
50-100 posts: Conqueror of Seasons
100-150: Knight of Seasons
150-300: Lord of Seasons
300-500: Prince of Seasons
500-1000: King of Seasons
...more than 1000posts: Pharaon of Seasons

possibly, too, as a special status for admins & modos (instead of the word 'admin' under usernames),or for members of the band only: Son of Seasons / Daughter of Seasons.

Cities names are a good idea as well but it seems hard to rank them, doesn't it?

Here's an idea - if you decide on the historical names, perhaps the post numbers could have something to do with the times that the people lived/ruled in?

It was an idea, but okay, will do

We could decide on a permanent ranking and make a new one when the CD comes out, so we have more material to be influenced by

hey, no internet can be a good thing sometimes i guess and hope you'll have a great holiday somewhere in a nice place, lost in deep nature... so refreshing
